The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated UAEShabab Al Ahli (2-1) in Dubai on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by Kuwaiti Kuwait (3-0) 75-71 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shabab Al Ahli. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Kuwait made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Shabab Al Ahli outrebounded Kuwait 44-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. American Augustine Rubit (203-1989, college: USA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Hamad Hasan (191-1997) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Kuwait's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (198-1992, college: St.John's) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and center Qais Alshabebi (200-1991) added 16 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Shabab Al Ahli. Four Shabab Al Ahli players scored in double figures. Kuwait have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending Kuwaiti champion keeps a position of league leader. Defending UAE champion Shabab Al Ahli dropped to the second place with one game lost.
